‘American Idol’ season 19 will be airing its All Star Duets and Solos episode this Easter, April 4, 2021 on ABC.
According to ABC, contestants will get to showcase their talent by singing duets with these surprise celebrity guests. They will need to impress the judges for a shot to make it to the live shows.
We have a sneak peek into which celebrity guests you can expect to see on the American Idol All-Star Duets episode. Katharine McPhee, who actually got her start on the popular singing competition in 2006 will appear to duet with one of the new hopefuls. The 37-year old is married to producer, David Foster and just gave birth to her first child, a baby boy named Rennie David Foster.
Katharine will duet with ‘American Idol’ contestants Alyssa Wray and Will Spence. It is not confirmed which songs they will be singing. Check out a photo of them on stage.
Superstar and ‘Back at One’ Singer, Brian McKnight will also join the contestants for their all-star duets. He is seen singing with Alana and Andrea Valles.
Singer/songwriter Joss Stone is another surprise celebrity guest! She will to be singing a duet with Anilee List.
Ryan Tedder, lead singer of One Republic is taking the stage with contestant, Cassandra Coleman. According to the photos, he will be jumping on the piano for this duet.
Joss Stone excitedly made her American Idol announcement on Instagram. The mom of one said, “Briefly interrupting mum duties for @americanidol ! 💕 Join US Sunday AND Monday at 8|7c on @abcnetwork for #americanidolallstarduets“
Finally, singer/songwriter Ben Rector will be taking the stage for the American Idol duets. He will perform with contestant, Graham DeFranco. The photos show that Ben will in fact play the piano for his duet as well.
Ben Rector fangirled a bit over a fellow celebrity guest. He said, “Guys, I made it to Hollywood. Tune in to ABC next Sunday & Monday at 8|7 central for the #AmericanIdol All-Star Duets episodes! (Yes I met Brian McKnight, yes he is incredible live, no I did not play it cool)”

American Idol alum, Jimmie Allen is taking the stage with Cecil Ray for his duet.
