Becky G Shower Review:
Becky G has released her newest single Shower and we have got some praiseworthy comments about the extremely catchy song that you will want to put on repeat!
The 17-year-old singer/songwriter was discovered at the age of 14 on YouTube by Dr. Luke who signed her to his record label, Kemosabe Records.
Following her contract with the major record label, Becky recorded the single Wish U Were Here with Australian singer, Cody Simpson. Although the song did not reach the Billboard charts, it boosted Becky’s popularity in the pop industry.
Her second collaboration was several months later with Cher Lloyd on her single Oath, which sold 140,000 copies in the United States. Becky made an appearance in the music video with Cher, and the video has almost reached 70 million views on YouTube.
This year, Becky released her first single Shower from her upcoming debut album that is scheduled to be released later this year. Its catchy lyrics, repetitive chorus, and beat for dancing makes it the perfect summer single!
The beat is simple and fun, but it’s the chorus that will really stick with you for a while! With the “la da dee la da da” in the chorus, the song makes us want to belt out the lyrics and dance along with Becky.
You can tell from the lyrics that Becky is singing about someone special who she is always thinking about. “You light me up inside, like the 4th of July, whenever you’re around, I always seem to smile.”
The singer commented “Everyone can relate to the song, even if you don’t understand the words.” Whether or not you can interpret the meaning of the words, you will love this song for its simple and unique style!
Speaking of the lyrics, it is quite ironic to say that Becky does sing in the shower. “It didn’t come to me when I was singing in the shower, but I am a shower singer and someone was making me feel some type of way about it,” admitted the singer. I am sure most people are guilty of this as well, but never really make the confession in front of others. Perhaps now you too will be able to put this single on your list of songs to sing while taking a shower!
Shower has become the biggest musical success for Becky, peaking at #16 on the Billboard Hot 100. It has also reached #1 on the US Heatseekers chart.
The single has sold over 500,000 copies in the U.S. alone.
Her first performance of the smash hit was on The Today Show, to which she received high praise!
The pop singer performed the new single in the 2014 Teen Choice Awards, pumping up the audience with her dancers on stage. She was the youngest performer on the stage, but she was able to pull it off just like many of the professional singers!
Although, it is no surprise that the quality of Shower is incredible since Dr. Luke has produced it. Dr. Luke is a musical producer and legend known for his work on #1 hits with successful pop artists. His producing credits include Miley Cyrus’ Wrecking Ball, Pitbull’s Timber, Britney Spears’ Hold It Against Me, and Kelly Clarkson’s Since You been Gone.
The music video of Shower it not one step behind and perhaps will give you a general idea of what the lyrics behind the song really mean.
The video starts out with Becky laying in bed surrounded by Cover Girl makeup and checking her iPhone. This is typical “girl stuff” but guys don’t get discouraged – there is more to come! She proceeds to walk into an outside party near the pool full of teenagers holding firecrackers. It appears to be a “little out of control” summer party that teens might throw while on school break. Everyone is having fun as Becky jumps up and down singing with other teenagers. The chorus comes to Becky splashing herself with water while literally “singing in the shower.”
The music video has received over 20 million views and counting on YouTube.
When you’re watching the video, keep an eye out for a special cameo appearance from rapper T. Mills!

The song is perfect for dancing, summer parties, or late-night gatherings with friends. Especially portrayed is the 4th of July, so get ready to choose next year’s Independence Day theme anthem!
Shower will put you in a dance mood and have you enjoy your summer, or keep wishing it was summer when you are sitting in class.
Becky is not stopping here and has a busy schedule ahead! She will be releasing her full-length debut studio album sometime in the fall of this year. On Air With Ryan Seacrest, Becky revealed, “We’re in finish-the-album time right now. We have all the songs and lyrics and what-not. Now it’s just getting the final vocals and making sure everything is perfect.”
Apart from this exciting news, the singer has been asked to open for pop artist, Katy Perry on her promotion tour for hit-album, Prism.
Becky will be joining Katy Perry in October on her Prismatic World Tour, and isscheduled to open for four shows – two in Houston and the other two in Mexico.
She is also scheduled to open for Demi Lovato’s Demi World Tour in September and Jason Derulo on his Talk Dirty Tour at the end of October.
By the looks of it, Becky G is certainly an “artist to watch” and keep an eye out for next year. Perhaps she’ll even be opening the 2015 Video Music Awards next year or winning a musical award. Anything is possible for this singer and we wish her great success in her long music journey ahead!
