<p class="has-medium-font-size">Maddie Ziegler, an adorable 11-year-old who is a Dance Moms Star has won the <strong>Best Choreography Award</strong> at the 2014 VMA&#8217;s for her dance performance in Sia&#8217;s <em>Chandelier</em> music video.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">Maddie Ziegler of Dance Moms, was a contestant on the dance competition show <em>Live to Dance</em> and after its cancellation was given the opportunity to appear in <em>Dance Moms</em>. The dance reality show is a Lifetime television program that features the lives of young dancers in the Abby Lee Dance Company Elite Competition Team.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">She recently appeared in Sia&#8217;s new music video for her single, <a href="https://geo.itunes.apple.com/us/album/chandelier/id882945378?i=882945383&;mt=1&;app=music&;at=1l3vkLE"><em>Chandelier</em></a>. Prior to shooting the music video, Sia had personally asked Maddie to appear in <em>Chandelier</em> on Twitter and the young star eagerly accepted the offer.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">The video shows Ziegler wearing a short, blonde wig and looking like a mini version of Sia. She dances around an empty apartment with incredible flexibility, doing tumbles, twirls, splits, and leaps. Her moves have been praised by critics and she was named as &#8220;One to Watch&#8221; for her incredible talent. Nolan Feenay from Time magazine has stated that her dance moves from the<em> Chandelier</em> music video &#8220;<span class="news_title">Might Have the Best Dance Routine of the Year</span>.&#8221;</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">Ziegler shared,&#8221; I like the whole dance. It was really different and weird for me, because I usually don’t, you know, be a crazy person every time. It was so fun to do and it was really out of the box and it expanded me a lot, because I’m used to competition dances where you’re like, Point your legs! But this time it was like, you just need to let go and feel it.&#8221;</p>

<p class="has-text-align-left has-medium-font-size">When asked about her emotions on the Red Carpet, Maddie admitted that this was unbelievable and such an incredible opportunity. She was excited to be at the VMA&#8217;s and couldn&#8217;t believe how much popularity the <a href="https://geo.itunes.apple.com/us/album/chandelier/id882945378?i=882945383&;mt=1&;app=music&;at=1l3vkLE"><em>Chandelier</em></a> music video had brought her.</p>



<p class="has-text-align-left has-medium-font-size">To promote the 2014 Video Music Awards, MTV released a video of Maddie Ziegler dancing around the VMA seats, red carpet, backstage, and other locations. She was doing her dance routine to Sia&#8217;s <em>Chandelier</em> and many appeared to be the same as the ones from the music video.</p>

<p><br>The tween made a long-lasting impression during the MTV VMA&#8217;s and was pictured with A-list celebrities, including Jennifer Lopez, Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, Gwen Stefani, and Becky G. Nina Dobrev was so excited to meet Maddie that she tweeted, &#8220;My #fangirl moment of the night.&#8221; It seems that Ziegler is already making Hollywood connections by wowing everyone away with her charming personality.</p>



<p>During an interview at the VMA&#8217;s, Maddie admitted that she wanted to meet Miley Cyrus because she &#8220;isn&#8217;t afraid to be herself and has her own style.&#8221; It seems that to Maddie, uniqueness and standing out from the crowd are good character traits to posses. She was also excited to see Beyonce and loved her fierce dance moves in her music video <a href="https://geo.itunes.apple.com/us/album/single-ladies-put-a-ring-on-it/id296016891?i=296016899&;mt=1&;app=music&;at=1l3vkLE"><em>Single Ladies</em></a>.</p>



<p>Yet, this is not the first time Maddie has been center stage! She has also appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres show alongside Sia performing her single <em>Chandelier</em>. The two recreated the<em> Chandelier</em> music video, with Ziegler dancing on stage in a deserted room, re-enacting all moves, down to the scene with the curtains. Meanwhile, Sia was standing in the corner and was turned towards the wall as she doesn&#8217;t like to face an audience while singing. Maddie was the center of attention with her gymnastic-like moves and all eyes were on her! The crowd went wild and everyone cheered for the young dancer and the talented singer, as Ellen ran on stage to hug them both.</p>



<p>The two have also appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, although the performance was a bit different than the one they did on Ellen. Instead of dancing alone in a room, ; Maddie was surrounded by two backup dancers. She was also wearing a colored outfit that was blue and yellow, instead of the tan colored leotard in the music video. The stage did not resemble the room from the music video and appeared to look more cheerful, rather than dark and empty. Nevertheless, she pulled it off, showcasing her talent to the live audience and the TV viewers!</p>



<p>Two months later, Maddie was invited back on the show to teach Jimmy Kimmel and and his pal, Guillermo, the dance routine from the music video. Kimmel commented, “I saw that video and I decided that I should know how to dance like that. Maddie was nice enough to take time to help us fly like a bird through the night and swing by the chandelier.” It seems that the <em>Dance Moms</em> star has gotten two new fans for her lively and inspiring moves!</p>



<p><em>Chandelier</em> has reached #8 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Sia&#8217;s first single to peak on the top ten charts. The single has been certified triple platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association and platinum by the Recorded Music NZ. With all the popularity the song has received on the charts, we are sure Maddie&#8217;s career will rise as more people watch the music video.</p>



<p>To date, the music video has received over 136 million views on YouTube.</p>



<p>Apart from <em>Chandelier</em>, Maddie Ziegler has appeared in several music videos, including Alexx Calise&#8217;s <em>Cry</em>, LUX&#8217;s <em>It&#8217;s Like Summer</em>, and Todrick Hall&#8217;s <em>Freaks Like Me</em>.</p>



<p>To top it off, the young dancer is also a model and has worked for popular fashion lines, including Glitzy Girl and Purple Pixies. Following her debut in the <em>Chandelier</em> music video, she became the cover girl of the summer 2014 issue of Kode Magazine.</p>



<p>Being the star of a TV show, performing in music videos, modeling, and winning a VMA, this little girl definitely has a big future ahead of her in show business!</p>
