<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to Get DJ Tanner&#8217;s Signature Ponytail</h2>

Candace&#8217;s Tip: Make sure the dryer blows your hair in the opposite direction of how it grows naturally to add some volume.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>STEP 2:</strong> She uses a graduated curling wand for waves. &#8220;<em>I curl the hair from my ears forward away from my face, then curl the rest in alternating directions to give my hair that true beachy effect,</em>&#8221; Candace said.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>STEP 3:</strong> Use a texturizing spray (<strong><em><a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Oribe, Amazon.com (opens in a new tab)" href="https://amzn.to/2Zk9IA0" target="_blank">Oribe, Amazon.com</a></em></strong>). Candace breaks up the waves with her fingers and then adds the product in for maximum volume and a tousled texture.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>STEP 5:</strong> Section your hair horizontally across the top of your head from ear to ear.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>STEP 6:</strong> Tease the back portion of your hair at the crown and comb it so it creates a bump for height. </p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>STEP 7</strong>: Pull your hair up and secure it with an elastic band. For top level volume at your crown, pull the elastic out about an inch.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>STEP 8:</strong> Pull a piece of hair out to wrap it around the hairband so it doesn&#8217;t show anymore. Get a bobby pin and secure it. </p>
