<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to Unsend a Message on Instagram DMs</h2>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">Go to your conversation thread on Instagram. Find the message you want to unsend. </p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">Hold the message down for a few seconds until a menu pops up. It will most likely read Unsend Message, Copy Text, and Save Quick Reply. Press &#8220;Unsend Message.&#8221; That&#8217;s all there is to it!</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">We know you&#8217;re wondering, will it alert the recipient that you unsent that message? No! They will never know, even if they already read it you can still unsend it.</p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">*<em>Please note!</em>* Unsending is different from deleting. Deleting will only take that message away on your side. The person you sent the message to will still see it. So, always make sure to &#8220;unsend.&#8221; </p>
