Alex Russell is one of the stars of CBS’ hit TV series SWAT, as the rebellious Officer Jim Street. As the show’s popularity grew, so did interest in Alex’s personal life. We have details on his longtime partner, Diana Hopper below. Plus, find out a bit more about Alex’s role on SWAT.
Alex Russell has been dating Diana Hopper since 2015. Diana is 29 years old, and her birthday is on February 25. It’s not too far from Alex’s, whose birthday is on December 11. He’s 34 years old, and is from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Diana was actually born in Memphis, Tennessee.
The couple often post photos of each other on social media, although Diana’s Instagram account is private now. Alex’s is public though, and he’s not shy about showing his relationship to family, friends, and fans.
For example, Alex captioned this post with: “Making parties more fun for me since 2015 💃🏻❤️🤓 #emmys” He and Diana frequent movie premieres, parties, etc. together.
Another thing they like to do? Support each other’s work. Alex’s girlfriend Diana is also an actress. She’s known for portraying Denise McBride on Goliath, which streams on Amazon Prime. Proud of her success, Alex wrote: “In awe of @dianahopper today. Such a badass. Watch @goliathtv on @amazonprimevideo streaming NOW 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🔥🔥🔥.”
In addition to wrapping up Goliath, Diana also made an appearance on SWAT this season! Alex posted about it on Instagram, writing: “Graced with the presence of the brilliant @dianahopper in this all new episode 😊❤️,” and she commented back: “Honeyyyy 😍.” Judging from the post, it looks like she played a flight attendant named Katie. Alex Russell’s been portraying Jim Street on CBS’ SWAT since the show’s inception in 2017. It also marked his TV debut. His character has had many intense moments, from a long undercover mission, to a potential romance with another officer, Christina “Chris” Alonso (Lina Esco).
Fans have been wondering if the two (ship name Stris) will ever become more than friends. Thankfully, the show’s been renewed for season 6 according to Deadline, and that’s ahead of the season 5 finale, so maybe they’ll get some answers soon.
Speaking of which, the episode description reads: “When control of a university chemistry lab is seized, the SWAT team races to thwart a devastating terror attack.” The season 5 finale is called “Farewell” and will air at 10 PM, ET/PT on Sunday, May 22 on CBS.
