Yes you heard right! MTV’s hit show ‘Catfish‘ will be celebrating their 100th episode in season 7.
It all began with host, Nev Schulman’s own catfishing experience back in 2010 after he discovered that the woman he was falling in love with online had not been exactly honest with him. It was all documented in a film called “Catfish.”
Nev received a Facebook friend request from a child named Abby, who was an extremely skilled painter. Nev became intrigued with the child’s talent and started a relationship with her family, including love interest Megan. As he started falling harder for Abby’s older sister, he went on a journey to go meet her.
The documentary film inspired Nev to help others going through what he was going through. That’s when “Catfish: The TV Show” was born and MTV picked it up. Nev and his co-host Max Joseph have traveled all over the world for the last 6 seasons, uncovering the truth for many online loves.
The 100th episode of “Catfish: The TV Show” will air on MTV, Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 10/9pm c and it’s going to be epic!
In a sneak peek video posted to the official Catfish Instagram, Nev reads an email he received. “This guys has been playing games for too long” read the headline of the email.
The email goes on to say, “Dear Nev and Max – my name is Joseph and I’m from Sacramento, California and I think my ex-girlfriend Kim is being catfished. I recently found out Kim has been recently dating some online guy named Matt for the last five years. That means they were talking while she was with me. But I’m not jealous, I’m concerned. Kim has had it kind of rough. This dude is the last thing she needs in her life. She’s never met this guy in person and doesn’t even know for sure what he looks like. Apparently he lives in Florida but the craziest part is that Matt lived near us.”
