<p><a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Charles Melton (opens in a new tab)" href="https://wud.tpx.mybluehost.me/website_9bd75fcc/?s=Charles+Melton" target="_blank"><strong>Charles Melton</strong></a> shared a very sweet moment with his co-star <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Yara Shahidi (opens in a new tab)" href="https://wud.tpx.mybluehost.me/website_9bd75fcc/?s=Yara+Shahidi" target="_blank">Yara Shahidi</a>. <em>The Sun Is Also a Star</em> actor recently talked about what sparked his on-screen romance with the actress. </p>

<p>“When we had our chemistry read, she shared a pop tart with me and in my mind, I’m thinking, ‘This is the first time we’ve met and I’m eating this delicious homemade pop tart,’” Melton explained to <em><a href="https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/charles-melton-on-writing-romantic-letters-to-camila-mendes/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label=" (opens in a new tab)">Us Weekly</a></em>.</p>

<p>He assumed she always shared her food with her co-stars, but then he found out that she did not. The kind gesture made Melton feel special, which helped kick start their character&#8217;s chemistry. </p>

<p>Off-screen, Melton is dating his<em> <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Riverdale (opens in a new tab)" href="https://wud.tpx.mybluehost.me/website_9bd75fcc/?s=Riverdale" target="_blank">Riverdale</a></em> co-star <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label="Camila Mendes (opens in a new tab)" href="https://wud.tpx.mybluehost.me/website_9bd75fcc/?s=Camila+Mendes" target="_blank">Camila Mendes</a>. The celebrity couple joined their fellow <em>Riverdale</em> castmates at the <a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label=" (opens in a new tab)" href="https://wud.tpx.mybluehost.me/website_9bd75fcc/?s=Met+Gala" target="_blank">Met Gala</a> together just on Monday in NYC. Shahidi also attended the 2019 fashion event. </p>

<p>Melton added that he can relate to his role in <em>The Sun is Also a Star</em>. He believes that Daniel&#8217;s qualities as a hopeless romantic and a writer resonate with him. Melton explained to <em>Us Weekly</em> that he wears his heart on his sleeve and enjoys writing.</p>
