The actress and singer will be staring in <em>Voicemails for Isabelle</em>, which will focus on her character&#8217;s dating life in Los Angeles. According to <em><a href="https://deadline.com/2019/05/sharon-maguire-hailee-steinfeld-voicemails-for-isabelle-sony-pictures-1202619326/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label=" (opens in a new tab)">Deadline</a></em>, Sharon Maguire, the director of <em>Bridget Jones&#8217;s Diary</em> and <em>Bridget Jones&#8217;s Baby</em>, is set to direct the film.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">According to <em><a href="https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/video/hailee-steinfeld-lands-role-rom-voicemails-isabelle-video-1212681" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label=" (opens in a new tab)">The Hollywood Reporter</a></em>, the speculative screenplay was written by Leah McKendrick. McKendrick was also the scriptwriter for the 2017 thriller <em>M.F.A.</em>.</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">According to McKendrick&#8217;s Instagram post, she came up with the script by the voicemails she would leave for her sister while she was living in LA. She also expressed how excited she is that Maguire and Steinfeld are involved in making the film.</p>
