A few familiar faces come together in Holly & Ivy, a new holiday film from Hallmark’s Movies & Mysteries Channel. Janel Parrish, Marisol Nichols, and Jeremy Jordan lead the principle cast in this heartwarming movie about family, friendship, community – and of course, Christmas. Keep reading below to find out more about Holly & Ivy, including who’s who in the cast, what it’s about, and even see a sneak peek preview.
Holly & Ivy follows Nina (Marisol Nichols), a woman who finds out her illness has returned, and she won’t be able to care for her adoptive kids. Her neighbor, Melody (Janel Parrish) offers to take the kids – Holly (Sadie Coleman) and Ivy (Piper Rubio) – to stay at her home, as she was a foster kid herself.
There’s a small snag in the warm gesture when Melody realizes she has to get her home up to code, including a nice bedroom for the girls in her new fixer-upper. When her job falls through, she worries that she won’t be able to get all the renovations done in time. But, with the help of her neighbors and friends, including handsome contractor Adam (Jeremy Jordan), she may just be able to pull this off in time for the holidays.
Fans will definitely recognize Janel Parrish as Melody; the actress is known for her roles as Mona Vanderwaal on Pretty Little Liars and Margot Covey in the Netflix movie series To All the Boys. Marisol Nichols’ most notable roles include Hermione Lodge on Riverdale and Nadia Yassir on 24.
Jeremy Jordan has been seen in numerous theater productions, including Newsies and Bonnie & Clyde; he’s been featured in Supergirl and had a lead role opposite Keke Palmer in Joyful Noise.
Holly & Ivy is Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Channel’s fourth all-new original holiday film, and is part of their Miracles of Christmas lineup. Ahead of its debut, the network has released a first look at the movie, so check that out below:
Janel Parrish also took to social media to post a behind the scenes look at the filming for Holly & Ivy, including appearances from her co-stars Jeremy Jordan and Marisol Nichols. You can see that below too:
You can catch the premiere of Holly & Ivy on Sunday Nov. 1 at 10/9 c, only on Hallmark’s Movies & Mysteries Channel.
