Is Awkward returning to MTV? Actress Jillian Rose Reed caused quite a stir among fans of the show when she showed off her new red hair on Instagram. Reed captioned the photo, ” Guess who’s back? ♥️”. Fans assumed Reed was referring to her role as Tamara on the MTV comedy series.

Last October, many of the cast members got together for a small reunion. Beau Mirchoff (Matty McKibben), Greer Grammer (Lissa), Molly Tarlov (Sadie Saxton), Niki DeLoach (Lacey Hamilton), Brett Davern (Jake Rosatti), Barret Swatek (Ally Saxton), and Reed took a group photo together to document their gathering. Davern caption the photo, “BIG ANNOUNCEMENT COMING SOON!”.
The cast has also met up with each other for other occasions. Tarlov, Grammer, and Reed shared a girls trip together in Temecula, CA last February. Mirchoff and Davern hung out together in Vegas last month.

The show aired on MTV from 2011 to 2016. Since the show ended, many of the actors have continued acting and have tackled creative projects of their own.
In April, DeLoach shared with Hollywood Life that a revival of the show is one of her “greatest wishes”. The reboot has not been confirmed, but one might happen in the near future!
