John Stamos and Julianne Hough have been working on something special. The Full/Fuller House star recently posted a behind the scenes video with the Dancing with the Stars alum, which have fans wondering: what are they working on? It’s a little something called Step Into…The Movies with Derek and Julianne Hough. Below, see the full video, and get details as to what they are rehearsing for.
John Stamos and Julianne Hough are rehearsing something special! Although, John was quick to say in his Instagram caption that it’s not DWTS-related! He wrote: “@juleshough stole my phone. Anyone guess what we’re rehearsing for? Hint: not Dancing w/Stars.” See the video in full below of the duo having fun behind the scenes.
Lots of people were quick to comment their thoughts as to what John and Julianne could be rehearsing for. Comments ranged from Dirty Dancing to Viva Las Vegas, the latter of which is a nod to the names referenced in the above video: Elvis Presley and Ann-Margret.
But, there is one option that could involve John. Julianne and her brother, Derek Hough, will lead a pre-Oscar special for ABC called Step Into…The Movies. They will be performing dances “reimagined through a modern lens” and inspiration will be drawn from “iconic films such as Singin’ in the Rain, Moulin Rouge, Beauty and the Beast, Chicago, Dirty Dancing, Saturday Night Fever and La La Land,” according to the network’s official press release.
While the rest of the cast will be announced at a later date, singers, dancers, actors and film legends will all be featured. Considering John’s an icon in music and acting, it makes sense that he’d be featured in this special alongside Julianne.
Hough wrote on Instagram: “I’m so excited and honored to celebrate these iconic dances in films. Sharing with you some of the legendary dances we have all watched and enjoyed through the years! #stepintothemovies“
Officially titled Step Into…The Movies with Derek and Julianne Hough, the special will premiere on March 20, with the siblings serving as executive producers.
This wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen John Stamos back on TV in a guest capacity for ABC. Feeling the Vibe reported on his American Idol appearance last year, where he gave contestants sage advice during Disney Night.
No official announcement has been made regarding if John Stamos will appear on the ABC special with Julianne Hough, but be sure you’re following their Instagram pages – @johnstamos and @juleshough, respectively – to see if any announcements will be made. The network did say the rest of the cast would be announced at a later date, so it should be coming fairly soon.
