It’s official! Host of MTV’s “Catfish” Nev Schulman confirmed that the reality show will be back for season 8 on June 12, 2019.
Fans have been anxiously waiting to see if their favorite series will be airing this summer or not. It has been radio silent except for a few photos snapped in upstate New York where Nev was filming a new episode for season 8.
Just today, Schulman posted the announcement on social media saying, “Summer plans??? I got you covered! @CatfishMTV is back June 12th ?”

It’s unclear if they are indeed permanently replacing Max Joseph who was Nev’s co-host for 7 seasons or if they will continue welcoming guests hosts at this point.
Schulman spoke to Newsweek about season 8 and how they are taking a bit of a different therapeutic approach. “At the heart of the show, in many ways, there are some core issues that we see over and over again,” Schulman said. “Everything from body image issues, to social anxieties, and in many cases, mental health and wellbeing issues.“

Some confirmed guest co-hosts are Kamie Crawford (TV personality), Elle King (musician), Laura Perlongo (Nev’s wife), and Justin Combs (athlete).
