A new month of movies has commenced on Hallmark Channel. For the month of February, the network has planned a “Love Ever After” event. Their newest movie that will premiere is called Playing Cupid, starring Laura Vandervoort and Nicholas Gonzalez. We’ve got more details on the film below, including the plot, trailer, and a few photos. So, keep reading below for all that info!
Playing Cupid follows middle school teacher Kerri Fox (Laura Vandervoort) who assigns a student named Clara Martinez (Mia Quaranta De La Rosa) a project about owning a small business. Clara chooses to run her own matchmaking business, and her first order of business? To set her father David (Nicholas Gonzalez) up with her teacher! Will these opposites attract – and will Clara have made a successful match?
Laura Vandervoort is known for her roles on Instant Star, Bitten, V, and Smallville. If you’re a Disney Channel movie fan, you may remember Laura in the 2000 film Mom’s Got a Date with a Vampire. Most recently, she starred in the 2020 Lifetime movie A Christmas Exchange.
Nicholas Gonzalez is best known for his main roles on Resurrection Blvd, Mental, and Melrose Place. He also had guest spots on shows like The O.C., Pretty Little Liars, and Being Mary Jane. His most recent role was as Dr. Neil Melendez on ABC’s The Good Doctor.
