<p class="has-medium-font-size">Christmas may be over, but <a href="http://wud.tpx.mybluehost.me/website_9bd75fcc/tag/hallmark-channel/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Hallmark Channel</a>&#8216;s not done rolling out new holiday movies! <em>Taking a Shot at Love</em> is their newest flick, which is a part of their &#8220;New Year, New Movies&#8221; event, so it&#8217;s the perfect way to kick off 2021. <h2 class="has-text-align-center wp-block-heading"><em>Taking a Shot at Love</em> Cast + Plot</h2>



<p class="has-medium-font-size"><em>Taking a Shot at Love</em> centers around hockey star Ryan Cooper (Luke MacFarlane), who suffered an injury and has to recover using ballet as therapy. Professional dancer Jenna (Alexa PenaVega) is the one to coach him through, and as the two spend time together, they form a connection. But, when Ryan&#8217;s due to return to his NHL career and leave Jenna back in Connecticut, they have to decide if the paths they&#8217;re taking are the right ones. </p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">Luke MacFarlane is a Canadian actor known for his roles on the TV series <em>Brothers &; Sisters</em> and <em>Killjoys</em>; not to mention, a number of Hallmark Channel original movies. His most recent ones include: <em>A Valentine&#8217;s Match</em> with Bethany Joy Lenz and <em><a href="https://tvmovievaults.com/luke-macfarlane/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Chateau Christmas</a></em> alongside Merritt Patterson. </p>



<p class="has-medium-font-size">Alexa PenaVega is probably best known for portraying Carmen Cortez in the <em>Spy Kids</em> quadrilogy. She&#8217;s also appeared on <em>The Tomorrow People</em>, <em>Nashville</em>, and <em>Dancing with the Stars</em>. <a href="https://tvmovievaults.com/alexa-penavega-married/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">She&#8217;s been married to <em>Big Time Rush</em>&#8216;s Carlos Pena since 2014</a>. They have two kids together, and just announced a third on the way!</p>

<p class="has-medium-font-size">If you want even more behind the scenes content, Hallmark uploaded an &#8220;on location&#8221; video, featuring Alexa and Luke as they take fans through certain scenes in Vancouver. While Luke is a hockey fan, he&#8217;s never played before; Alexa wasn&#8217;t familiar with hockey in the slightest, and it was her first time in a rink for the movie! </p>
