Hallmark Channel has become synonymous with family-friendly, feel-good seasonal films. But, the network has had success with series such as The Good Witch and Cedar Cove. So, it makes sense that Hallmark’s newest series The Way Home combines the theme of family with stunning locations and a great cast much like its predecessors. What is The Way Home About?
The Way Home follows Kat Landry (Chyler Leigh) and her teen daughter Alice Dhawan (Sadie Laflamme-Snow) as they move in with estranged grandma Del (Andie MacDowell). Escaping the tension, Alice explores the farm and finds herself on a surprising journey. All three women must confront their pasts to allow themselves to move forward into the future, whether that be in professional endeavors or personal relationships. Along the way, they’ll meet new people and discover how to rebuild connections with each other.

Who’s in Cast for The Way Home?
Andie MacDowell as Del Landry
Andie MacDowell is a well-known actress. Notable roles of hers include Groundhog Day, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Ready or Not, and of course Hallmark Channel’s Cedar Cove. In addition, Andie’s appeared on NBC’s Mr. Mayor, Freeform’s Jane by Design and more recently, Good Girl Jane. She can also be seen in Netflix’s Maid and Along for the Ride. Aside from acting, MacDowell’s been a face for L’Oreal for over 30 years. Andie has three children and was married twice. She currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
Chyler Leigh as Kat Landry
Chyler Leigh is perhaps best known for her role as Lexie Grey on the long-running ABC medical drama Grey’s Anatomy. Fans may recognize her as Alex Danvers from the CW’s Supergirl. Chyler reprised her latter role in The Flash, and has also been featured in Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow. She and husband Nathan West make up the duo WestLeigh. They have 3 kids together.
Sadie Laflamme-Snow as Alice Dhawan
Sadie Laflamme-Snow is a Canadian actress. She held leads in Netflix’s Unicorn Academy and the indie film Cascade. Next, Sadie will star in the upcoming season of Slasher for Shudder.
Evan Williams as Elliot Augustine
Evan Williams is a Canadian actor known for his roles on Degrassi: The Next Generation, Baxter, Awkward and Versailles. Recently, he was seen in the Netflix film Blonde. When he’s not acting, he’s working on his music or philanthropic projects.
Alex Hook as Young Kat
Alex Hook is an actress who starred in the Nickelodeon series I Am Frankie. Other credits include Hallmark Channel’s A Nutcracker Christmas, as well as the Lifetime movies Galentine’s Day Nightmare and Safe House.

In addition to information about the pilot episode, Hallmark Channel has also released a synopsis of episode 2 of The Way Home! According to the network’s official synopsis: “Kat is presented with a book deal that asks her to dredge up painful memories. Del wants to say goodbye to the past, while Alice yearns to return there.” Episode 2 premieres on Sunday, January 22 at 9/8c.
