1) One of his earlier roles was on the WB/CW sitcom 7th Heaven as Martin, an acquaintance of the Camden family.
2) You probably have also seen Tyler as Derek Hale on the MTV show Teen Wolf. He was on the show as a regular from season 1-4 and as a guest on season 6.
3) He loves spending time with his family: his mom, dad, and siblings, including his two brothers, Tanner and Travis, and sister, Carrie.

4) He’s also guest starred on the CW shows Supergirl, Arrow, and The Flash as Superman. He was apparently the only actor in mind for the role – he didn’t even have to audition!

5) Before deciding to pursue acting full-time, Tyler had a promising career in baseball. He’s been playing baseball since he was 7, and played in college. He was going to go pro, but he injured his hamstring during his junior year.
6) Up next for Tyler? A role in the Netflix sci-fi series Another Life, and the romantic comedy Can You Keep a Secret, which is based off of Sophia Kinsella’s book.
7) He’s close friends with Teen Wolf co-stars Dylan O’Brien and Tyler Posey. He even lived with them for a portion of his time on the show.
8) Tyler was in a fairly private relationship with Pitch Perfect actress Brittany Snow from 2013-2015. The couple made a few rare appearances at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party in 2015 and at Brittany’s Pitch Perfect 2 red carpet premiere.

11) He was almost “Edward Cullen” in Twilight! He was up for the role, but then turned it down to pursue baseball (this was ultimately before he decided to pursue acting full-time). Could you have imagined Tyler as “Edward” instead of Robert Pattinson?
12) He was also in the Fifty Shades sequel, Fifty Shades Darker as author, Boyce Fox. Even though the name is only mentioned in the books briefly, the director wanted the character to be slightly more prominent in the film, so he cast an up-and-coming actor for the role.

14) For his role on Teen Wolf, Tyler was nominated for a Teen Choice Award.
