Great American Christmas 2026 is officially gearing up for one of its biggest star-studded event movies of the season! Great American Media has announced the upcoming premiere of The Christmas Ring, a poignant new holiday film adapted directly from the bestselling 2025 book by #1 New York Times bestselling author Karen Kingsbury.
Featuring a powerhouse ensemble cast led by Jana Kramer, Ben Hollingsworth, multiple Emmy and Golden Globe winner Kelsey Grammer, Megan Ashley Brown, and country singer Jessie James Decker, this emotional adaptation blends faith, family legacy, and an unexpected second chance at love.

What Is The Christmas Ring About?
In The Christmas Ring, military widow Vanessa Mayfield (Jana Kramer) has spent years searching for her family’s most precious heirloom: a gold-and-ruby ring discovered by her great-grandfather in Normandy on D-Day. After losing the treasured piece years ago, her search leads her to Ben Miller (Ben Hollingsworth), a widowed antiques dealer who deeply understands her journey through grief.
As the holiday season unfolds and Vanessa prepares for her annual military Christmas dance and the arrival of her college-age daughter Sadie (Megan Ashley Brown), her growing friendship with Ben begins to turn into an unexpected romantic connection.
However, a surprise twist occurs when Ben’s father and business partner, Howard Miller (Kelsey Grammer), unknowingly acquires Vanessa’s missing ring in a box of estate antiques and plans to sell it. When Ben realizes the priceless connection behind the ring, he races against time to save the heirloom—setting off a heartwarming Christmas reunion that bridges the past with a hopeful future.
“Karen Kingsbury has an extraordinary ability to tell stories that reach people where they live; stories grounded in faith, family, and precious relationships,” said Bill Abbott, President & CEO of Great American Media. “The Christmas Ring beautifully reflects what Great American Christmas stands for.”
Honoring America’s Service Members On and Off Screen
Adding an extra layer of depth to the production, The Christmas Ring features nearly 100 actual active and retired U.S. military members who answered Karen Kingsbury’s personal call to appear as background actors. Among those who participated was World War II veteran James Daniels, who filmed his scenes prior to his passing.
“It was my honor to include actual military for the background acting in our movie,” shared Karen Kingsbury, who executive produced the film and co-wrote the screenplay alongside director Tyler Russell. “I am absolutely thrilled to be partnering with Great American… I have a feeling people will want to watch it with their families and loved ones again and again this Christmas.”
With over 100,000 copies of the book already sold through publisher Thomas Nelson, the movie adaptation promises to be a cornerstone event for holiday viewers.
